Understanding Children’s Emotions
Almost all parents experience times when they feel lost dealing with their children’s emotions or their own. We often bring the weight of the whole day home with us—stress from work or exhaustion from the commute. This makes it even harder to face our children’s emotions, which we may not understand in the moment and which often aren’t even about us. It is a clash of two “overflowing buckets” of daily experiences, leading to situations where things at home spark more than we would like.
In such states of exhaustion, it is easy to lose the confidence to react constructively or to know what to hold onto in the heat of the moment. That is why we invite you to a practical workshop with Irena Kubantová, designed to help you navigate these situations with greater perspective.
What to expect at the workshop?
-
Analysis of real-life situations: working with specific examples from your daily life.
-
A new perspective: understanding a child’s behavior through their actual needs.
-
Differences in perception: how the emotional worlds of children and adults differ and what to do when a child is “out of sync” with us.
-
Developmental needs: looking at children’s behavior through the lens of their specific developmental stages.
-
Montessori principles: a gentle connection to Montessori pedagogy and child personality types.
What will you take away?
-
Greater calm: how to maintain stability and composure even in difficult moments.
-
Perspective and compassion: the ability to look at a situation with understanding and detachment.
-
Inner certainty: the realization that you don’t need an immediate “perfect solution.”
-
A practical guide: how to support your child’s development instead of engaging in an endless power struggle.
