During Giving Tuesday, we organize an Angel Breakfast at Andílek – a joint event for students, parents, and employees, where secondary school children bake, prepare treats, and take care of the entire “breakfast operation.”

In the schoolyard, we offer sweet and savory breakfasts for parents, children, neighbors, and passersby, and all proceeds are donated to the non-profit organization Kokosrnky, z. s., which protects fawns and other young animals during meadow mowing.

Breakfast is a way for us to get together and experience that even small everyday steps make a difference—while helping nature in a concrete way.

When: December 2 from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m.

Where: At the Andílek Montessori School, Pod radnicí 3, in the courtyard

Why we are doing breakfast with adolescents?

When we involve children in events such as the Angel Breakfast, they don’t “just” learn how to bake or run a stall. They experience firsthand that their work has a real impact. Thanks to them, someone will enjoy a tasty meal, and some organization will be able to save specific animals.

This helps them develop responsibility (to finish what they promised), teamwork, planning and role distribution, communication with adults and strangers, and basic financial literacy (what are costs, profits, and donations).

At the same time, they develop sensitivity to what is happening around them: they learn to perceive the needs of others, the stories of organizations that help, and to think about how they themselves can contribute. The child thus becomes an active citizen who understands that they have a voice in the world and can use it for a good cause.
