Citizen of the World: Guidelines on key competencies building in Montessori Elementary classroom
The Citizen of the World project connected Montessori schools and educational organisations from Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Together we explored how the key competences of the European Union are naturally developed in the Montessori primary school environment.
Montessori Schools Andílek took an active part in the project. Our guides shared experience from their everyday work with children, took part in joint meetings, workshops and expert discussions, and contributed to the creation of methodological and digital materials.
The result is a set of resources and a free online platform, Citizen of the World, which offers inspiration on how to support independence, cooperation, responsibility, critical thinking and children’s active relationship with the world around them in a Montessori classroom.
The project ran from January 2024 to December 2025 and was funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
